What We Do

The LSCF helps to support outstanding programs and services for older adults in our community by providing supplemental funding to the Levy Senior Center. The foundation also extends its impact by offering programs and events designed to enrich the lives of older adults in the Evanston area, ensuring they remain active, connected, and engaged.

300+ Compete in Annual Hoops for the Ages

Hoops for the Ages committee member Dorrance Halverson, 80, is an LSCF board member who played in the tournament. He played basketball as a kid, then restarted when he was 40. Asked how he feels about “aging in motion,” he said, “I think it’s a wonderful thing, and I’ve been doing it for 23 years at the Levy Center.”  Read More.

May 20: Integrative Approaches to Aging Well

Dr. Temple will cover mind-body, nutrition, exercise, traditional Chinese medicine, medical cannabis, and other ways to enhance longevity and quality of life. She will also provide tips on making the most of your medical care. This program is in person at the Levy Center in the Locust Room, and online via Zoom. Learn more.
